The laser nozzle is one of the most important parts of a fiber laser cutting machine. It is installed at the bottom of the laser head, laser power and high-pressure airflow are emitted through the nozzle, which is related to the cutting quality and service life of the laser cutting equipment. We will give you some suggestions to choose the suitable nozzles for your machine?
The laser nozzles how to affect the cutting performance
-Through the internal shape of the laser head nozzle, the airflow direction and air pressure of the high-pressure airflow are to maintain the pressure between the workpiece and the nozzle.
-The workpiece melt is prevented from splashing back into the laser head to protect the internal lens of the laser head.
-The capacitor signal is to the height adjustment system to ensure stable operation of the height adjustment system.
Types of nozzles
General laser cutting nozzles are divided into single and double layers. Single-layer nozzles are used for melting and cutting, that is, nitrogen is used as auxiliary gas, and it is usually used to cut stainless steel, aluminum alloy, brass, etc.
Double-layer nozzles are generally used for oxidative cutting, that is, using oxygen as an auxiliary gas, usually used for cutting carbon steel.
How to choose the caliber of nozzles?
The nozzle of the laser cutting machine can assist the rapid ejection of gas, which can effectively prevent sundries such as melt stains from bouncing up, thus protecting the focusing mirror.
At the same time, it can control the gas diffusion area and size, which will affect the cutting quality of the laser cutting machine.
At the same time, the aperture size of the nozzle varies according to the thickness of the cutting material.
First, cutting the sheet (below 3mm)
The nozzle with Φ 1mm aperture will be fine, while the nozzle with Φ 1.5mm aperture will be thicker, and the corner will be easier to contain stains.
Second, cutting thick plate (above 3mm)
The nozzle with Φ 1mm aperture is not stable when used.
Because the cutting power is higher, the relative heat dissipation time is longer, and the relative cutting time increases, the gas diffusion area of the nozzle with Φ 1mm aperture is small, so it is not stable, but it can basically be used.
The nozzle with Φ 1.5mm aperture has a larger gas diffusion area and slower gas velocity, so it is more stable when cutting.
Third, cutting plates above 10mm.
At present, nozzles with a diameter above 2mm or 2mm are generally selected.
However, the larger the aperture of the nozzle, the less the protective effect on the focusing mirror.
Therefore, the reasonable selection of the aperture size of the nozzle of the laser cutting machine can carry out the product more effectively.
The nozzle should be placed carefully to avoid deformation, the melt stain on the nozzle should be cleaned up in time. The bad nozzle will cause poor laser cutting quality, we have to check the nozzles regularly. Here is a video to help you to under the changing nozzles.
